Easter

We have been learning about Easter and how Easter Eggs remind us of New Life.
We learnt that a Baby Chick is a sign of New Life and we also learnt a new poem about a Baby Chick.

This is how it goes:

Baby Chick

Peck, peck, peck
on a warm brown egg.
OUT comes a neck,
OUT comes a leg.
How does a chick,
Who's not been about,
Discover the trick
of how to get out?

At Easter, we have Easter Eggs that remind us of New Life so we painted our own Easter Eggs. First we painted a styrofoam egg with different colours, we left it to dry over night and then the next day we used white paint to decorate our Easter Eggs.

On the next day, we decorated Easter baskets with felts and drew lots of different patterns onto it to make it look festive!

We remember that at Easter time it is not about Easter Eggs and the Easter Bunny, but a time to celebrate New Life and celebrate that Jesus is Alive!

The Holy Spirit- Te Wairua Tapu

In Religious Education we have been learning about The Holy Spirit- Te Wairua Tapu. We have been learning that The Holy Spirit is like the wind because we can not see it but we can feel it. The Holy Spirit helps us to make good choices and to say kind things.

We made windmills to help us remember that God the Holy Spirit is like the wind.

Autumn

We have been learning about the season of autumn! We learnt that there are 3 months of autumn. It starts in March and finishes in May. We also learnt that in autumn it rains, it's windy and leaves start falling off trees.

First we wrote our stories then used PVA glue to stick the leaves around our stories.
We hope you enjoy seeing what we did and reading our stories!
