The Monsters' Party

Our big book last week was called "The Monsters' Party". It was written by Joy Cowley and it's all about what monsters can do.

We loved this book because the monsters could do anything they liked!

In class, we drew our own monsters and thought about what they could do. We needed to be very creative and think about the sorts of things we would like our monsters to look like. Some of them turned out to be pretty scary!!

Have a read of some of the things that our monsters can do.

Saint Mary MacKillop

On Friday the 8th of August, Good Shepherd School celebrated the Feast Day of Saint Mary MacKillop. We started our day off with a whole school Mass where all our new children received a welcome candle.

We went back to our classes and learnt some more about Mary MacKillop and why she was such an important person. We learnt about the kind and loving things that she had done in her life.
Each class celebrated her life in different ways.

In Room 1, we thought about words that described Mary MacKillop and wrote it using block letters. We then used as many colours as we could to colour in the word that we had chosen.
