Our Prams

During Term 2, our Topic was about functions and how things work. We focused on prams and looked at  different kinds of prams, parts of a pram and we even had a few parents come in and show us their prams. Towards the end of our topic, we used old cardboard boxes, plastic drink bottles and toilet rolls to make our own prams. We then modified it by using materials to make it look better and be more comfortable for the baby. We talked about why we added our modifications and how it would make our prams better. 

We had a lot of fun designing and making our prams!

MOTAT

On Friday 20th June, the Sheridan Syndicate took a trip to MOTAT!

We all had such a great time learning about different inventions from years and years ago! We saw old phones, cameras, toys and even toilets!

We especially loved the tram ride because we got to see the scenery and we were very tired at the end of the day from all the walking we did, so it was great to sit down and enjoy the view.

Funky Feet Friday!

On Friday we all came to school with Funky Feet because it was Road Safety Week.

During the week we learnt about how to cross the road safely, what we need to look out for on the roads and what drivers need to do to keep safe.

We practiced crossing the road in class. 

We learnt a poem about crossing the road and this is how it goes.

Stop, Look and Listen,

before you cross the street.

Use you eyes and your ears,

before you use your feet!

We really enjoyed decorating our shoes and we loved seeing all the different funky feet at school!

Wheels

Our Topic for this term is Functions. We are learning about how things work. 

First we looked at pushchairs and what they need so that it can function. We found out that pushchairs need wheels so that they can move. Next we drew a plan of something else that needs wheels to function and then we made it using mobilo and k'nex.

Cross Country

Welcome to Term 2!

At the beginning of the week we visited the Life Education classroom. We learnt about different ways to keep ourselves healthy and one way is to exercise.
We have been doing a lot of running recently because on Thursday 8th May we had our school cross country race!

We have been practicing during the week and we learnt that its not about winning but to finish the race, and we all did!

We would like to thank all the parents and teachers who helped to make this a wonderful day! :)
