Samoan Language Week

The children in Room 1 and 2 have celebrated Samoan Language week at Good Shepherd School! We began our week with our whole school prayers that surrounded the Trinity-The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We also learnt how to make the Sign of the Cross in Samoan. Uiti and Mrs Fala helped us all! During our prayers we placed some Samoan patterned cloth and Josie even brought us some lovely fresh flowers from her garden. 

Our Big Book this week was called Lavalava. We all got to write about where we would wear our Lavalava. We really enjoyed learning some Samoan words, including the fruits and vegetables! This linked in very well with our healthy eating inquiry.
